Most people think of running as a relatively safe sport, that isn't altogether true especially when running on the roads. A few months ago I was preparing for a race out of town and I considered what could happen if something happened to me out there on course, how would my family know? A lot of races take your health information at the time of registration, but in the event of an emergency how long does it take to access that information? I have asthma and thankfully have it pretty well controlled but what if I had an attack and I couldn't communicate this to the emergency responders? Well I found my answer with Road ID.
Road ID carries a range of products meant to keep you safe communicate necessary information in the even that you are unable to. They have everything from wristbands, apparel, reflective products, shoe tags, etc. I approached them wanting to get a wrist ID for myself so that first responders would have my information if necessary. They were more than generous and I was able to get a wrist band for myself and for my son!

There is plenty of room on the wristbands for your name, medical information, and emergency contacts. I even had enough room to put a motivational phrase on mine. You also have the ability to pay for interactive web support which means that a first responder can access comprehensive medical information and you can update it at any time in case of changes. Road ID also provided a list of abbreviations if you are unsure of what to put on your band such as "NKA" which translates to "No Known Allergies".
I think that everyone should consider investing in something like this for your own personal safety and peace of mind. Please visit Road ID to check out the full range of products.
The winner of the giveaway will receive a $35 Road ID gift card Ecard code to use for any Road ID product. Good luck, the giveaway will close at 12:00PM (PST) on Friday August 2, 2013.
-Please note that RoadID only provided me with the gift card and is not compensating me for this review, it is solely based on my own experience with the product-
I run alone a lot... would be good to have for safety reasons. Great idea and looks comfy and not too cumbersome to wear while running.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be important for ID and safety, I run alone almost 100% of the time.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to get one for ages... it would be great to win one!
ReplyDeleteI have a Road ID but I'd really like to get one for my husband. He's a newer runner and I worry when he goes out alone!
ReplyDeleteI have the same road ID as you (the slim pink) and I absolutely love it! It makes me feel so much safer and I don't even realize it's there. I would actually like to get one for my mom, who is a walker. She often walks alone on the bike path and I would feel much better if she had an ID
ReplyDeleteI have always used a Road ID but my information on it is outdated. I need a new one. I run alone a lot and think its important. Especially since I don't run with a phone or anything.
ReplyDeleteI love my RoadID, but need to update some info, get some new slim bands & now they have the little distance charms. I wear my RoadID while running, at the gym, or if I go to Memphis (an hour away) by myself to run a race or shopping. You never know when something could happen!
ReplyDeleteI run alone a lot so it would be nice to have an id on me that isn't my license! I almost always forget to put my license back in my purse!
ReplyDeleteI've been indecisive on which RoadID I should get, but I always run with my phone and have started using the RoadID App (which is AWESOME!). I need to make a decision!
ReplyDeleteRoad ID is great. It's an easy way for emergency personnel to know who you are and whom to contact. I have the slim currently and love it, but with the GC I could accessorize :-)
ReplyDeleteRoad ID is important because I often run alone. This way, if something happened to me, there would be a way to identify me!
ReplyDelete(Side note: I liked the facebook pages from my running page, Once Upon a Run, not from my personal page which you have to use to log into rafflecopter)
I LOVE road ID... I think it's great to be aware of the dangers surrounding running... we can't be ignorant about it and road ID is perfect for that kind of thing! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI run alone so it's important to have that information handy just in case. Plus I have allergies to certain meds so that's also very important.
ReplyDeleteI think it's so important to be able to be IDed during an emergency...and so often runners don't carry anything on them! I also love the idea of getting the small one for my child who is too young to remember our phone numbers should he ever get lost.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Road ID- its important because the ID can speak for you if you aren't able! (let's say you're injured, pass out or worse on a run, the bracelet ensures you become more than Jane Doe!)
ReplyDeleteI always run alone around my neighborhood. So it would give me peace of mind to know that people would know who to call if something happened.
ReplyDeleteStill haven't purchased one of these, even though people know my motto is safety first..lol. Definitely, would love to win a GC to get me started. Love the idea of a children's one for travelling
ReplyDeleteI love road ID and I want to get some for my runner friends. I keep telling them to get one and they are too lazy to!
ReplyDeleteRoadID is great for me because I can go online and change my medical information any time I need to.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted a Road ID, but my funds are very limited. This would be an awesome win!!!
