Racecation Packing List

Well, by the time this post goes up we will be well into our journey towards Walt Disney World. But in case you're headed out for a racecation this weekend yourself, I thought I'd share my must-have packing list.

1. Garmin watch & charger, I feel naked running without my watch even if I'm not trying for a PR, I gotta have it.

2. Hydration. I've tried many different methods of hydration and right now I'm using a pack and it's working well. Though lots of bigger races have many water stations, I usually still prefer to carry my own. I'm considering just carrying the spibelt this weekend since there are 9 water stations, but I will bring my pack just in case. Also, if you prefer a specific method of hydration such as Nuun or Gatorade, then you might consider bringing it with you or at least making sure you can purchase it when you arrive at your destination.

3. Favorite running clothing OR in the case of Disney; running costume. I will be running dressed as Minnie Mouse this weekend.

4. Running shoes. Obviously.

5. Other shoes. As much as I love my runners, I can't wear them ALL the time so I will  be taking a few pairs of comfortable shoes for walking around at the parks and after the race.

6. Race fuel. If you eat something particular before a race, you need to remember to pack that. Because this is my 1st nighttime half marathon, eating beforehand will be a bit of an experiment. I will also be packing some honey stinger chews for during the race because all that is offered at Disney races are clif shots.

7. Other running clothes? It occurred to me only this morning that because I signed up for #NovRunStreak I need to pack more running clothes, 4 outfits at least. Better pull out the bigger suitcase...

8. Ipod. Easy to forget, would be a huge problem for me because I sometimes rely on my music during a run.

9. Earplugs. I can't sleep without them especially when I am somewhere unfamiliar.

10. Schoolwork. Sigh, it is not a complete vacation for me.

11. Warm post-race clothing & compression socks. After reading multiple reviews about Wine and Dine, though Florida is pretty warm during the day, at this time of year, it gets pretty chilly at night and I want to enjoy myself at the Food and Wine festival instead of being frozen.

Next up will be an update on what's happening at Walt Disney World! Have you entered my giveaway for Raw Threads wine-themed athletic shirt?

What are your must-have's for a racecation?
